The Montana Districting and Apportionment Commission on Nov. 12 approved two congressional districts for Montana.
In November 2022, Montanans will send two representatives to Washington for the first time in more than two decades. Montana’s population growth over the last decade resulted in the creation of the second district. Previously, all of Montana was represented by one member of Congress, speaking on behalf of more than a million residents. Now, each member represents about 542,000 people.
The commission sent a letter to the Secretary of State announcing the plan.
